Some bags belong on the course.
Ours don't.
Bags you want to keep close.
Fore the Few is our golf brand. It started with one bag.
Our founder was in a golf shop in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, looking for headcovers, when he caught sight of a 1980s caddy bag made by Miller, with the Hooters logo on it. Orange leather. He said “what a beautiful bag” out loud, to no one in particular. It wasn’t for sale. So he set alerts on eBay and waited, and eventually one came over from America.
Then came the others. Dr Pepper. Planters, with Mr. Peanut. 7UP, in a green you don’t forget. Staff bags and promotional bags from decades ago, found one at a time and brought to Tokyo by way of warehouses in California and near Manchester.
They’re heavier than modern bags, and a modern driver is too long for the original rain hood. We don’t mind. The build is simple and close to indestructible, and the leather, worked with baseball glove oil, gets better every year. Polishing one is less maintenance than a quiet conversation with the bag.
Fore the Few is for golfers who aren’t satisfied with what’s on the shelf. We ask the same question FRUNKERS asks: why this one? “Because it was there” isn’t what we’re listening for. “Because I said it out loud in a shop” is.
Somewhere along the way, the bags started asking for things that didn’t exist.
A vintage bag has no hood that fits, and in Japan the cart has a roof anyway. What the bag needed was something soft over the clubs, something anyone could flip back in a second, and something that made people look at the bag. So we made it a hoodie. Not a cover. A hoodie. That’s ClubHoodie.
The other one started inside a 911, as something to keep a bag from marking the interior. It became a soft sock for the bottom of the bag. That’s ClubBootie. On in the car, off at the cart.
These aren’t a side project to the collection. They’re the other half of the brand: things for golf we design ourselves, built around how bags actually live. In cars, on carts, against a wall at home.
We make them in small numbers. Each one is finished in our studio in Tokyo, where it gets its embroidered mark, in a slightly different place every time, and a number of its own. No two are the same.
We don’t run sales, and we won’t be in every shop. If you see one on a bag somewhere and want one, ask. We’ll make one for you.
DIGDUFF is where the digging happens: the next bag, and the next small maker in the US or the UK that hasn’t reached Japan yet.
Founded in Tokyo, sourced from every corner of this earth, and Mars, maybe.
